Thumpstar
Makes presence known at the famous Unadilla Valley AMA
Pro National
July 15, 2006
Unadilla motocross track was muddy and rutted from saturday
practice, and in much need of some grooming. Before
they set out to fix the track for the main event on
Sunday, Thumpstar’s Mike Leavitt had to leave
his mark along with all the other pit bike pilots on
the soil of Unadilla.
The
racing was competitive, and the turnout was huge. The
number of racer entries at Unadilla seemed to double
from the previous event in the sand, at MX338, in Southwick,
Mass.
Mike Leavitt,
piloting his factory Thumpstars, turned it up for an
overall third in his classes, respectively. With the
first moto behind him, and in the pocket of Willy Browning,
The Thumpstar crew set out to put all efforts behind
Mike and push for the win. With Browning down in the
first turn, Mike Leavitt led the moto on his 12”
TDX Pro 131 in true champion fashion, until the last
lap where Browning was able to get a better run out
of the corner, and put the pass on Leavitt for the win.
Who could be
disappointed with fans stacked on the fences, and crowding
the surrounding hills to watch and cheer on the mini
champs? The event went off with out a hitch, and all
the racers rode hard, and fast. The talent pool is getting
deeper and deeper at every event, and Thumpstar’s
Mike Leavitt is keeping the TXD PRO 131’s on the
podium, with consistency.
