Thumpstar
attends Transworld Motocross Masters of Mini Pit bike
series
August, 2006
Tuesday, august 22nd 2006- Thumpstar, being a title
sponsor for the Masters of Mini pit bike series hosted
by Transworld Motocross, put forth a good showing with
Mike Leavitt, piloting the 2007 Mike Leavitt Special
Edition TDX pro 12” signature series bike.
In the first
College boy heat, Leavitt rode hard for a solid 2nd
overall, overcoming a pile up in the second turn after
the gnarly whoop section, which owned a few riders over
the course of the evening. Mike then qualified for the
main in the unlimited class via the last transfer spot
due to technical difficulties.
At the start of the college boy main, Mike Leavitt jumped
out of the gate first and ran 2 laps out front before
suffering from a devastating carburetor mishap in the
whoop section, causing him to not be able to navigate
up front at 100% anymore. Pulling off, Thumpstar was
hoping to fix and find the right tuning and jetting
for the unlimited moto still to come. Leavitt then returned
to action, this time piloting the 10” class bike
to compete in the 12” unlimited class, in hopes
to maintain points, and not to disappoint the fans.
With an amazing start, Leavitt pushed the 10”
thumpstar to a solid 2nd out of the gate, and a steady
third before dropping to fourth, where he battled the
bigger bikes to keep his spot. A harsh landing on the
last lap would leave Leavitt to claim 6th overall, showing
that it’s heart and persistence that keeps the
sport going.
